What is Alternative Fitness Training?
Alternative Fitness® Training is an integrated approach to mind-body exercise. Our workshops include learning theory and practice from Yoga, Pilates, Basic Exercise Physiology practice & principles, Therapeutic Ball work & Basic Therapeutic Massage.

What is Body IQ?
Body IQ is an innovative approach to mind-body exercise training that builds a smarter and stronger body.  Body IQ draws on the use of intuitive awareness to visualize how movement and breath can come together to create greater strength, stability and  a stronger mind connection to your body. By connecting movement and thought through breath awareness, new possibilities are discovered for creating vitality and inner strength. Learn to develop strength, flexibility, tone, and balance all while engaging your mind-body connection. What is Pilates?
Pilates is a Yoga based exercise form created by Joseph H. Pilates many years ago. This mind-body exercise technique teaches the basics for balanced strength, flexibility, posture and core muscle control.

 What Are the Goals of the Workshops?
Alternative Fitness Body IQ® Workshops are to prepare the exercise professional to teach Pilates, Yoga, and other therapeutic exercise modalities in a public setting safely and effectively.  Alternative Fitness Body IQ® Workshops are structured to help bridge the gap between traditional exercise and mind-body exercise practice and theory.  The workshops provide material from basic to advanced levels of work. Also covered is exercise programming and design specifically for Pilates & Yoga.  Completing all of these workshops will prepare you for entering the world of mind-body fitness training and give you the skills to become a creative, effective and safe exercise instructor.

Alternative Fitness Body IQ Teacher Training Program is a series of educational workshops geared towards training those interested in becoming a mind-body exercise professional, as well as, for those individuals who are already trained instructors seeking continuing education.  All workshops can be accessed independently of our apprenticeship program,

Alternative Fitness also offers an apprentice program.  This program is for those who are interested in study and work with Janine and Her Staff at Alternative Health & Fitness in Philadelphia.

What is the Apprenticeship Process?
The Alternative Fitness Body IQ® Apprentice Program has been created to provide hands on, experiential training for the individual who is interested in becoming an Alternative Fitness Body IQ® practitioner.  Apprenticeship study requires a 1 to 2 year commitment of study and work at Alternative Health & Fitness in Philadelphia, PA.
