Subject: Glistening Old Farts

Where are they?

Kansas is still around... they toured with the new incarnation of ELO last summer (although they didn't make it out to Arizona... too bad!) I have no idea how much of the Kansas that toured in 1994 was in the original Kansas. Kansas also played a large (primarily country-western!) club in Tucson a couple of years ago.

Styx: they've split up, and a reunion is pretty unlikely. Dennis DeYoung is very involved in Broadway musicals. His latest solo CD, released late last year, was called "10 on Broadway" and featured music from a number of Broadway musicals. Tommy Shaw, of course was in Damn Yankees for a while, and just last week released an album with Yankee-mate Jack Blades (originally from Night Ranger) called "Hallucination." It's very Byrds/Tom Petty in style, and is supposed to be quite good (I haven't heard it yet), but whether it's filed in stores under Shaw, Blades, Damn Yankess, or something else altogether seems unpredictable at best. James Young also has a solo album ready for release. I don't know about the other members, but you can ask Donna, she is a MAJOR Styx fan and keeps up with everything all the former band members have been doing. Also check out the Styx Web. Or if you want to try the really direct route, you can email Tommy Shaw on AOL... I think the address is (.21M)

Are plan for any interested bands:
1) Have them write and record using the 3) Let the Old Farts record songs from our released or unreleased libraries.)

Our objective isn't to get the original act back together for a reunion. But, to rejuvenate any individual who had their life-blood sucked out by the dreaded "music industry."

Feel free to come check in on our progress ... or, if you are interested, you might want to help us sign-up one of your favorite Old Farts.

Sounds interesting. I'll keep checking out the Web page. As far as signing up a favorite group... well, mine would definitely be ELO, but most of them are currently busy with the spinoff ELO Part 2.

Yes. I too am partial to ELO and would be very interested in speaking to Jeff Lynne ... if you can find him, we'll try to cut a deal. The only reason ELO isn't on the list is I figured Mr. Lynne had a full plate already ... but, you don't know if you don't ask.
