TIPS FOR THE INFORMED CONSUMER REGARDING YOUR WELLNESS...
- BE PROACTIVE
You have the right to ask questions regarding your practitioner's diagnosis, approach,
treatment methods, and outcome. DVWN can supply you with a practitioner's approach,
treatment method, and speciality. You can request to interview a practitioner over
the phone or at their office.
- CHECK OUT THE CREDENTIALS OF PRACTITIONERS
Since training and regulations of holistic practitioners vary from state to state,
it is up to you to ask relevant questions regarding a practitioner's training and
credentials. DVWN refers only credentialed professionals, so check with us for
further information on practitioner credentials and backgrounds.
- PARTICIPATE IN YOUR TREATMENT
The more involved you are in your care the better. You can ask your practitioner
for additional suggestions. Perhaps you want homework, perhaps you need another
treatment approach, or a group to support your progress. You can call DVWN again
and again, we're here to help you connect to many specialists.
- BE EDUCATED
Take time to gather information. DVWN'S Guide to the Complementary Therapies can
help you gather information about many therapies. Educate yourself by reading books
and articles, talking to practitioners, and attending workshops and group meetings.

are uncomfortable with any care provider for any reason, address it. If you are
dissatisfied with your practitioner please call the DVWN for a new referral, it
