Try Me?

Jeffory asks..

Is it me, or do those frames look familiar? Hmmm...

When you click on one of the "index buttons" on the central left frame, those pages end up in the same frame. This is decidedly NOT cool. I think you should name the BIG frame something like "LABYRINTH" then you add a target = "LABYRINTH" into all the links on the buttons frame.

Now the problem becomes more complicated. See what happens if you click Engineering, then click Tri-Tech Imaging, then click Netscape 2.0+. This is what is referred to as deeply nested frames. You will need to add a target = "_top" to all in the entire philanet system so that this will not happen. (target="_top" basically removes all previous frame references prior to loading the URL.) You could also use target="_blank" which opens an additional window in your netscape browser.

Jeesh, never thought I would be an HTML consultant.

Help informs us...

There is now a willie page... made through the efforts of Willie and Wally, so don't dilly dally.
http://membrane.com/willie/

Capn asks Willie...

Where do I get the brain animation?

Ed note: Along the way somebody asked about .sit files....

Sidd begins...

The .sit file is for Macs to convert .avi files to quicktime for viewing on a Mac.

Capn asks...

Do we have a link get this from our multimedia pages?

If not I would like to get one in there for Mac users, but I wouldn't know what I am talking about...
Is the .sit file an executable file, or does it somehow plug into quicktime??

Willie explains...

The .sit file is like a .zip file. It uses Stuffit which is available for PC's also. Thanks for the page! Looks good !

On the Mac/PC thing, most Macs with the proper software will convert and play most anything that a PC puts out: .wav, .avi, .wrl, .txt .bmp... Items created, however, need to be tested on both machines before they get put on the 'Net. It's a bummer to download a movie and find it will not work.

Been trying to come up with a brain clip, and will have something soon I hope.

Wally asks...

Can anyone tell me how to configure our viewers to look at the virtual reality stuff? I would like to include a "how to" page on the web. Thanks
