Eudora

One method of e-mail management is Eudora. This software allows you to read and write your e-mail without being connected by the phone line. Then, at the press of a button, you can upload and download your mail.

Here is what happens inside your computer:
====== Setting up Eudora ==========
===================================
1) In Eudora, go to the SPECIAL menu and select CONFIGURATION.

2) Enter the following by clicking on each respective box and entering the requested information:
POP ACCOUNT: acctname@lyonesse.membrane.com (where acctname is your account name)
REAL NAME: Your real name.
SMTP SERVER: lyonesse.membrane.com
RETURN ADDRESS: Your e-mail address, usually acctname@lyonesse.membrane.com
CHECK FOR MAIL: This will determine how often Eudora will automatically check for new mail. Set it to your preference.
PH SERVER: Blank, for now.
The other settings are for the program environment, and are set to your preferences.

3) Click OK to save changes.

4) If you don't want to have Eudora prompt you for your password at each manual mail check (with CTL-M), then go to SPECIAL and select SWITCHES. You will see a window of various boxes to configure. At the top-center is the CHECK OPTIONS box. The first switch is for SAVE PASSWORD. Click the box next to it to select it. This will enable Eudora to remember your password after the first time you type it in. Click OK to save changes.
